
The Bauchi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC has said it had mobilised 1,302 personnel for all highways in Bauchi State to ensure safety of travellers during Sallah season.
The State Command’s Head of Operations, Mahmud Kachalla, stated this while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday at the command’s headquarters in Bauchi.
He said the personnel comprises 652 Regular Marshals, 500 Special Marshals and 150 officers.
He said the command would release patrol vehicles and ambulances to arrest any unforeseen situation on the highway, noting that the step would ensure accident-free period.
Kachalla said that command would impound vehicles of under-aged drivers and prosecute their parents, stressing that it is a traffic offence for an under-aged driver to ply the road.
He advised drivers to avoid dangerous driving, alcohol intake, overconfidence, use of phones while driving, illegal parking and other actions that were dangerous to safety.
